Description

The lesser-known third island in Paris, Île aux Cygnes, was created in 1827 as a guard for the port in the River Seine. It is only 850m long and 11m wide. On the western end of the Pont de Grenelle is a one-quarter size replica of the Statue of Liberty, which was inaugurated in 1889. To witness a remarkable view of the Eiffel Tower, take a stroll east through the Allée des Cygnes, a tree-lined path along the entire length of the island.
