Description

At a height of 324 meters, the Eiffel Tower is an iconic symbol of modernity that stands proudly as the tallest human-made structure in the world. Constructed for the 1889 Exposition Universelle (World's Fair), the Tower was met with opposition from Paris’ artistic and literary elite, who sneeringly called it the “metal asparagus”. In spite of this, its impressive design has allowed it to remain standing for over 130 years, and seven million visitors come to experience it every year. With its six colors throughout its lifetime, it is currently being painted a yellow-brown hue to commemorate the 2024 Olympics.

Visitors have various options for exploring the Eiffel Tower – from a daytime trip, an evening ascent amid twinkling lights, or even a meal in one of its restaurants. The first floor houses the glass-enclosed Pavilion Ferrie with an immersion film, along with a cafe, souvenir shop, and restaurant 58 Tour Eiffel. The second floor, at 115m, offers the best views of Paris below and is home to the Michelin-starred restaurant Le Jules Verne. The top floor (276m) allows for sweeping views for up to 60km and has a champagne bar to commemorate the ascent. Additionally, the “secret apartment”, where lifelike wax models of Gustave Eiffel and his daughter Claire greet Thomas Edison, can be found here. With all of these options, each visit is sure to be a unique and awe-inspiring experience.
