Description

Descend into the tranquility of Canal St-Martin, a 4.5km-long shipping route which has been connecting the Seine and Paris' northeastern suburbs since its inauguration in 1825. Along the towpaths, admire delightful locks, bridges and local neighbourhoods or take a romantic stroll, cycle, or picnic. By the junction of rue de la Grange aux Belles and quai de Jemmapes, find an iron footbridge, a great spot to observe the vintage road bridge open to allow canal boats past. And don't forget to stay late and enjoy a drink in this idyllic setting.
