Description
The Rue des Trois-Frères is a street on the hill of Montmartre, in the 18th arrondissement of Paris, best known for the grocery in the film Amélie. It runs between Rue d'Orsel and Rue Ravignan.
The main reason to come is number 56, on the corner of Rue Androuet: the Au Marché de la Butte grocery, which became the grocer's shop in Jean-Pierre Jeunet's 2001 film Amélie.
At number 23, a plaque marks the clinic of Georges Clemenceau: once mayor of the district, he kept practicing medicine here alongside politics until 1906.
The name comes from three Dufour brothers, who once owned the land. Two plaques, at numbers 4 and 48, remember the resistance fighter Aron Skrobek, who hid here during the German occupation and died in the Natzweiler-Struthof camp in 1943.
