Description

A peaceful area in Paris

Place Dauphine is one of the most peaceful and enchanting places to visit in Paris. Plans to begin this lovely square were laid out in 1609 and it was one of the earliest projects begun by Henry IV. Among sites to see include the Pont Neuf, the “new bridge” which is now the oldest bridge in Paris.

Even though Place Dauphine is considered a square, it is actually triangular in shape. To many it serves as a quiet spot to get away from the hustle and bustle of life in Paris. Meals are accompanied by violinists who float from café to café and complete an enjoyable and serene Parisian experience. Vehicles are an unusual sight to see on the cobblestone streets which makes it even more relaxing.
