Description

Historic landmark, and future museum complex

Inspired by the stunning architecture of Château de Blois and Château de Gien, Hôtel Gaillard is one of Jules Février's masterpieces. The building, erected between 1878 and 1882 was designed to showcase a collection of paintings and artworks of Émile Gaillard.

Hôtel Gaillard sold in 1921 to the Bank of France, and in April 1999 it was registered as a Historic Monument of Paris. The building is scheduled to host the Cité de l'économie et de la monnaie - the City of economy and currency - beginning with 2015.
