Description

A wonderful museum of instruments and all things musical

The Cite de la Musique is not only a museum, but also a group of institutions that are dedicated to music. It opened in 1995, and was designed by architect Christian de Portzamparc. It has an amphitheater, a concert hall, and a museum with a collection of instruments from the 15th-20th Century.

The Cite de La Musique is housed in the Musee de la Musique in Paris. It features five floors of musical instruments and everything music related. Specific musical periods are highlighted with information about composers of that time as well as with what types of instruments were popular at that time.
