Since its opening in 1804, Père Lachaise has become the world's most visited cemetery. Spanning 44 hectares, the cemetery boasts over 70,000 ornate tombs of the rich and famous, forming a verdant sculpture garden. Among the highlights include the tombs of 1960s rock star Jim Morrison in Division 6 and Irish playwright Oscar Wilde in Division 89.
