Description

Originally built as a 12th-century hunting lodge, the royal residence of Château de Vincennes has been developed over the centuries. Louis XIV was responsible for its expansion to its current size. Delightful architectural features from the medieval era still stand proudly today, including the 52m-high keep (1370) and the elegant royal chapel (1552). The chapel is open to the public between 10.30am and 1pm, and 2pm and 5.30pm mid-May to mid-September (until 4.30pm mid-September to mid-May). Visitors can explore the castle and admire its stunning architecture and history.
