Nestled behind Le Bon Marché department store, the gorgeous and remarkable chapel is a destination for pilgrims. According to legend, in 1830, the Virgin Mary appeared to Catherine Labouré, a 24-year-old novice at the seminary. Through three miraculous visions, she was instructed to make a medal that would serve as a blessing and a protection to those who wore it. The first Miraculous Medals were made in 1832.
