Description
A Mont Saint-Michel day trip from Paris lets you reach the island without renting a car or untangling train connections. You meet your guide and group in Paris, board a coach with Wi-Fi and spend about four hours each way on the road to Normandy, with the guide setting the scene along the way.
On arrival, the guide leads a walk through the village and up the Grande Rue, past medieval stone houses, shops and cafés. Then comes the abbey, entered with an audio guide you follow at your own pace, in English, French, Spanish, Italian or German. The guide speaks English only; the audio app is for the abbey itself, so download it and charge your phone beforehand.
- Mont Saint-Michel village, on a guided walk
- Mont Saint-Michel Abbey, with admission included
- Free time for lunch, photos from the terraces or a stroll on the ramparts
Lunch is not included. The day is long, about 14 hours in all, and involves cobbled streets, steep lanes and many stairs inside the abbey, so it is not wheelchair accessible and not recommended for people with back or heart problems or for pregnant women. Knees and shoulders must be covered to enter the abbey. The trip runs in any weather, so dress for the forecast.
